Our primary mission is to support UMD undergraduate students in engaging research opportunities in all possible forms.
Our focus is not on connecting students with individual researchers but instead on empowering you to identify potential research opportunities at UMD and beyond, to make a strong case for yourself as a candidate for research opportunities, and to communicate your research findings and experiences with a range of academic and non-academic audiences.

Summer 2024 Office Hours
If you are an undergraduate who would like to speak with an OUR staff member in person about strategies for locating and applying for research opportunities, approaches to disseminating your research, or other topics related to undergraduate research, please come by our office hours! Office hours for the summer will begin on Monday, June 3, 2024.

When: Mondays 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Tuesdays 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Where: The Atlantic Building, Room 2338
Office hours will operate on a "first come, first served" basis, with no appointments necessary. If you are away from College Park this summer, please e-mail to set up a Zoom conversation.
No office hours will be held on Monday, June 24 or Tuesday, June 25. The last day of regular office hours for the summer will be Tuesday, July 16, but you are welcome to e-mail to arrange an appointment after that date.
