OUR's Third Annual Summer Undergraduate Research Conference

The Office of Undergraduate Research held our third annual Summer Undergraduate Research Conference (SURC) on Friday, July 24, 2026. More than 220 student researchers shared posters about their work at the event, which featured 125 projects and highlighted research conducted in a wide range of fields. Presenters included participants in summer research programs on campus, as well as UMD undergraduates undertaking research off campus at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, the National Institutes of Health, Virginia Commonwealth University, and other institutions. Our office sincerely thanks the student presenters at SURC and their research advisors, who reviewed their proposals to present and guided them in their preparations for the event. We are also very grateful to all of the attendees and to the campus partners who assisted us with publicizing and executing the event.
