Call for Proposals for New FIRE Streams

We are excited to share the opportunity for OUR Campus Partners to influence the creation of a new FIRE Stream connected to their research disciplines.

Led by The University of Maryland's (UMD) Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR), The First-Year Innovation & Research Experience (FIRE) is a course-based undergraduate research program that provides first-year UMD students with an inclusive faculty-mentored research experience that drives accelerated career readiness and opportunity. Initiated in 2014, FIRE has grown to serve more than 600 new first-year students annually through the operation of 16 distinct FIRE Streams. A FIRE Stream's ecosystem includes FIRE Students, Peer Research Mentors, a FIRE Faculty Leader - and - potentially you, a Campus Partner, as a FIRE Faculty Collaborator.

We have created a location that describes this opportunity, helps you with the proposal process, and asks for your help searching for qualified individuals for our FIRE Faculty Leader positions.

Please reach out with any questions or concerns!
