
VIP Call for Proposals 2025
For Campus Partners Seeking:
A course-based way to engage 10-15 undergraduate students in longitudinal research goals. Course operates each Fall and Spring term for approximately three years.
Description:
Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) provides UMD students of all backgrounds, disciplines, and levels of experience with the opportunity to engage in scaffolded, multidisciplinary team-based projects. VIP is a new undergraduate research initiative launched by ENGR, with campus-wide growth led by OUR. We seek campus partners of all disciplines who wish to create a project-centered team of 10-15 undergraduate students and be the instructors of record for the affiliated course each term. VIP Teams typically last for at least three years.
The VIP Program Provides:
Course creation & scheduling, faculty readiness and support, student recruitment & management, assessment & evaluation.
Campus Partner Provides:
Instructor & faculty mentor, research facilities, equipment & consumables. Time commitment is approximately 4 to 6 hours per week.
